Gallaspy to Make Decision During the Fall

Greensboro (N.C.) Southern Guilford High three-star running back Reggie Gallaspy didn't have Arkansas in his top five, but an offer during the summer opened things back up for the No. 79 running back in the country.

Reggie Gallaspy had his list down to five schools, but the offers kept coming.

The three-star running back from Greensboro (N.C.) Southern Guilford High told in March that his top five schools, in order, were Duke, North Carolina State, North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia.

However, he opened it back up when his offer list stretched to 17, the last of which came from Arkansas.

Fayetteville was just one of many visits for Gallaspy over the summer, as he also visited Louisville, Illinois, Michigan State, Vanderbilt and West Virginia, but it seemed to stand out to him.

“It was great,” Gallaspy said. “The campus was beautiful and the coaches are wonderful. I can see myself there.”

The fact that Arkansas was named “Running Back U” by ESPN this summer makes the Razorbacks’ offer intriguing.

“That’s really good, just knowing that a lot of guys in the NFL went through that program,” Gallaspy said. “That would be a big opportunity.”

Head coach Bret Bielema’s history is another factor Gallaspy said he was considering.

“The last five running backs he coached are in the NFL,” Gallaspy said. “His history with running backs really stands out and definitely helps out a lot in recruiting.”

At a combine held at Washington (N.C) High earlier this summer, Gallaspy ran the 40-yard dash in 4.36 seconds and measured at 5-foot-10 and 212 pounds. He is rated as the No. 79 running back in the country.

Gallaspy said he hopes to make his decision in either September or October.
