Butler excited by latest Pac 12 offer

Etiwanda (Calif.) 2016 defensive back Treyjohn Butler picked up offer No. 3 earlier in the week and has high interest.

Treyjohn Butler is one of the top corners in the region and has a chance to develop in to a national recruit. The talented junior has size, speed and athleticism and is a skilled playmaker with a very nice upside to him.

California was his first scholarship offer and Washington State was right behind the Bears. Earlier in the week, Washington became Pac 12 offer offer No. 3.

"I've been talking with Washington a lot and they came out to see me twice over the spring," Butler said. "They already knew about me because our tight end, Mike Neal, is committed there. Coach B (Bhonapha) is the one recruiting me and he's a great guy and we have a good relationship.

"I definitely want to get out and visit Washington for a game this year, possibly with Michael. I heard it's a crazy atmosphere there and I've been doing a lot of research on them. From what I've seen, the campus is really nice and I'm looking forward to seeing it up close."

Along with his three Pac 12 offers, Butler said he's hearing from a handful of other schools as well.

"Stanford, UCLA, Notre Dame and Michigan are all showing a lot of interest," Butler said. "Since UCLA is local, I want to visit them and will most likely attend a few games. I've always liked Stanford, they have a great combination of academics and athletic and that's what's most important for me.

"Right now, I'm just going to focus on my upcoming season and I know recruiting will take care of itself. I'm just a junior and have two years to go so I'm just going to play things out and enjoy it. Hopefully more schools will offer during our upcoming season and I'm definitely open to everyone right now."
