The Utah Top 60 in 2015 is loaded with top heavy talent and depth that the Beehive State has never seen before. Colleges are recruiting the state of Utah like never before and for good reason.
Breaking Down The Top 10
1) Osa Masina, OLB, Brighton
Masina was a great prospect from the get-go at Brighton. He is a five-star player with all of the tools necessary to dominate at the next level. Masina has the ability to play all over the football field, but outside linebacker is his most natural position.
2) Porter Gustin, DE, Salem Hills
Gustin is a physical specimen. He plays quarterback and middle linebacker in high school but projects best as a pass rusher at the next level. Gustin is explosive, violent, and lives in the weight room.
3) Andre James, OT, Herriman
James is a great fit for UCLA's fast-paced offense. He is a tremendous athlete with good strength. Once James engages in a block, it's all over. If he improves his footwork in pass protection he could become a one man wrecking machine.
4) Christian Folau, MLB, East
Folau is a throwback football player. He is a hard-nosed linebacker that has rare instincts. He is stout against the run and is also a good pass rusher. Stanford has one of the best middle linebackers in the country with Folau.
5) Dayan Lake, CB, Northridge
Lake is a great athlete that has a chance to become a game changer for BYU. He is a little raw, but has the tools to be a lock down corner and a home-run hitter on special teams.
6) Gabe Reid, OLB, Timpview
Reid is not only the best pass rusher in Utah but he is also one of the most dynamic edge rushers out West this year. Reid has an advanced repertoire of moves with a motor that never slows down.
7) Mufi Hunt, DE, Taylorsville
Hunt is one of the most sought after prospects in Utah this year. When you see him in person, it is easy to see why. Hunt is every bit of 6'-6" and while he is a lean 215 right now it is easy to picture him gaining 40 or 50 pounds at the next level.
8) James Empey, OG, American Fork
Empey is a technician on the offensive line. He has tremendous footwork and packs a mean punch. Empey plays the game the right way with the perfect amount of nastiness to him.
9) Noah Togiai, TE, Hunter
There's a chance Togiai doesn't play football at the next level as he is currently committed to Utah for basketball. If he does decide to switch to football, or even if he plays both sports (which is a possibility), he will be a very good tight end. His basketball skills translate beautifully and he loves and embraces the physicality of football, unlike a lot of basketball athletes.
10) Austin Kafentzis, QB, Jordan
Kafentzis may go down as the best high school athlete to ever come out of Utah. The Wisconsin commit has consistently dominated the competition from the get-go. He is a pass first QB but can also be deadly with his legs.
