Christian Kirk is the top receiver out West and the No. 32 overall player in the nation. He's an explosive playmaker who can stretch the field, runs very well after the catch and shows the versatility to play in the slot, out wide or even in the backfield.
On the recruiting front, Kirk recently cut his list to six with Auburn, Arizona State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC being named as finalist. He recently set up his first two official visits and may take just three before it's decision time.
"I'm going to Texas A&M (Sept. 13) and Auburn (Oct. 4)," Kirk said. "I haven't set up USC yet but I'm for sure going to visit there and that will likely be in October too. My plan is to take those three and then see where things are at with my recruitment.
"I could still visit Ohio State and/or UCLA or if I feel like I know what I want to do, I could just decide after those three visits. I don't have a set timeframe for when I'll commit, just whenever I know, I'll do it. I'm not going to rush it but I won't drag it out either."
One school who won't get an official visit but is high on the board for Kirk is ASU. The athlete has visited the campus a number of times and took in a Sun Devil practice over the weekend.
"I feel really comfortable at ASU," Kirk said. "I love all the players and coaches and the fans show me a lot of love too. I've been there a ton so there's a strong comfort level and they have been recruiting me for a long time.
"I like the offense and they said they want to use me similar to how they use Jaelen Strong, as an outside receiver who can make plays. Right now, I like all these schools and I don't have a leader, that's what the visits will be for. Like I said, I'll take those first three visits, then sit back and evaluate everything and kind of go from there."
