2017 OL Anderson Accumulates Offers

Scout.com caught up with Frisco (Texas) 2017 offensive lineman Jack Anderson, who already holds six offers.

Jack Anderson has already accumulated a half dozen offers and his sophomore football season hasn't even officially started.

The Frisco (Texas) High standout has picked up offers from Arizona State, Arkansas State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Texas Tech, and UAB.

The 6-foot-4, 275-pounder projects right now as an interior lineman, but if he grows, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get interest as a tackle, something of which he's aware.

The seventh offer might not be far away. Anderson said he's visiting North Texas this weekend and the Mean Green staff has been very high on him leading up to the trip.

"I will be visiting UNT Saturday for their closed scrimmage.(Offensive line) coach (Mike) Simmonds said that I am an offer kid, but he wants to see me."

Anderson already has two offers from Power 5 conference programs and will get plenty more, but he said North Texas' vicinity to his hometown made it where he has to see the school.

"I know some kids at UNT, all Frisco grads, so I can't not check it out (with it) 20 minutes away," Anderson said.

Anderson doesn't have any other trips planned yet for this fall, but he has an idea of several schools that have shown a lot of interest that could wind up producing his next batch of offers.

"Clemson, Baylor, North Carolina, and TCU are all in-season offers, I believe," Anderson said.

Anderson's Frisco squad scrimmages Friday at McKinney (Texas) North, which features Oklahoma State 2015 four-star running back commit Ronald Jones, 2016 four-star defensive end Justin Madubuike, and 2015 three-star safety Bryce Balous.

Anderson and Frisco open the 2014 season Aug. 29 at home against North Forney, which features Rice tight end commit Hunter Herndon at quarterback. Herndon recently got an Oklahoma offer.
