West '15: Preseason Top Ten Safeties

Encino (Calif.) Crespi four-star Marvell Tell heads the West's top safety rankings...

1. Marvell Tell, 6-2, 184, Encino (Calif.) Crespi
Considering, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC and Washington State

The Skinny: Long, quick and rangy, Tell is one of the premier safeties in the country and coveted by just about every West Coast program.

2. Frank Buncom, 6-1, 188, San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine
Considering Duke, Oklahoma, Stanford, UCLA and Vanderbilt

The Skinny: Just as exceptional in the classroom as he is on the field, Buncom is one of the most well-rounded recruits in the region, regardless of position.

3. Isaiah Renfro, 6-2, 185, Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon
Committed to Washington

The Skinny: Renfro committed to Washington to play receiver, but he's an exceptional safety, with great ball skills, closing speed and physicality.

4. Kameron Powell, 5-11, 185, Upland (Calif.)
Committed to Washington State

The Skinny: Powell has corner size but hits you like a linebacker and plays much, much bigger as a safety in a talented Upland secondary.

5. Avery Anderson, 6-1, 175, Colorado Springs (Colo.) Pine Creek
Committed to Nebraska

The Skinny: Anderson has tremendous position versatility, able to play corner or safety and with his length and room for more weight, could be a valuable defensive back for the Huskers.
