The star of Waco (Texas) Midway's Friday scrimmage was four-star safety Kahlil Haughton, who made an impression in limited reps versus Round Rock (Texas) Cedar Ridge.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound athlete, who returned to the field this fall after undergoing wrist surgery in late spring, continued to make it obvious as to why he is one of the state's most in demand defensive backs.
Still uncommitted, Haughton planned to announce a decision in early August, but decided he wanted to take more time with the process. He has narrowed it down to Oklahoma, Baylor, Duke, Arkansas, and Texas Tech.
"I think one of the best things about me is that I think I'm pretty quick and have the agility of a cornerback and I have the speed, so not only can I come down and make a tackle, but I can also, if I need to, man up an inside receiver and take them on one on one and cover them," Haughton told Scout earlier this year of what he can contribute to a college secondary.
