Montini (Ill.) wide receiver Tyler Millikan is primed for a big season, and is fully recovered from an ankle injury during the offseason.
Even though he was recovering the 6-foot-2.5, 190 pound prospect still made it out to a few camps.
"Made it out to Valparaiso for a Ball State camp. Coach Gaither told me to keep in touch. I did miss much of camp season due to injury," Millikan said. "I then went to Indiana Top Prospect day last weekend with Leon Thornton. Was great to see Nile Sykes and Simmie Cobbs there. I really enjoyed meeting the coaches, taking in all IU has to offer. IU coaches want to stay in touch this fall."
And as for his general recruiting, the rising junior is looking forward to it picking up even more in the fall.
"Slowed down a bit with the injury as I couldn't get out until I was near 100-percent," Millikan said. "By that point most camps were over."
This season is one that the Montini standout is looking forward to for a variety of reasons.
"Our offense is starting to figure things out. We have a ton of potential that needs to work hard and turn that into production on the field. Plus, I am loving the fact that I will take some reps on defense and special teams again this year," Millikan said. "Also I am looking forward to starting the season vs Maine South, East St Louis, St Rita and DeLaSalle. The new CCL Green will be fun."
And of course, Millikan has been working on his individual game as well.
"I have been working on my flexibility and speed," Millikan said. "Reading what defenses are giving and applying techniques to take advantage of those opportunities."
