Scout TXHSFB: Three Questions (8/28/14)

Scout National Analyst Greg Powers has three big questions he'd like to see answered after this weekend's TXHSFB coverage, where he will see teams like Frisco Lone Star, Coppell and South Oak Cliff take on Sherman, Hebron and Cedar Hill...

Q1: Is Coppell offensive tackle Connor Williams a four-star recruit?

Question Analysis: Williams had a huge off-season adding offers from most every top program, including schools like Oklahoma, TCU, Texas, Stanford and UCLA. He played tight end last year, specializing as a run blocker and rotating in with Baylor tight end Blake Mahon. Playing at or around 250 pounds it was easy to see early on that he had the skill set to be a D1 prospect. Now that he is up to 270 pounds he is probably the top uncommitted offensive line prospect in the region, but we have yet to see him take any snaps playing tackle. Could be a 'no brainer' scenario after we see him.

Q2: Is Hebron offensive lineman Zach Rogers 100% and should he be back in the No. 1 center in the country discussion?

Question Analysis: Rogers is a a prospect who I have been high on for quite some time. He has always played older than his years and been a team leader, but while he is consistent and reliable he also plays with a real mean streak. Also considering his smarts and football savvy he just has a good all around skill set to bee an excellent center prospect on the next level. He is in competition with guys like Fred Ulu-Perry and Tommy Hatton who edged up past him the rankings after strong performances at The Opening.

Q3: Who should we consider as the top prospect on a loaded South Oak Cliff team?

Question Analysis: This one I anticipate being pretty difficult to answer. Right now Texas running back commit Jordan Stevenson is the highest rated recruit on the team, but he has some competition with guys like J.F. Thomas and Prentice McKinney in the 2015 class, but also the school boasts some strong underclassmen like four-star outside backer Marvin Terry.

Scout will be back with the three answeres for these questions on Tuesday 9/2/13
