Sophomore Off To Great Start

Akron Hoban sophomore runningback Todd Sibley picked up where he left off last year, as he ran for nearly 200 yards last Thursday against Akron Firestone. Sibley is receiving major college recruiting interest.

It didn't take long for Akron Hoban sophomore runningback Todd Sibley to show that his impressive freshman season last year was no fluke.

Sibley, 5-foot-10, 202-pounds, rushed for 197 yards and scored three touchdowns last Thursday in a 24-0 win over Akron Firestone.

"It feels great to win and it should give us a lot of confidence," Sibley stated. "I think I'm a lot better player than last year, and I worked very hard in the off season. I'm faster this year, and I think it showed on those long runs."

"I think I'm a power back with vision, but speed is a big part of my game also," he added. "My line was great tonight, and I give a lot of credit to those guys."

After putting up big numbers last season, college recruiters became aware of Sibley. Although he has no offers, there are schools showing interest.

"Nobody has offered yet, but Purdue wants me to come to one of their games and I want to get over there," he explained. "I've heard from Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan, and I'm definitely interested in all three of them."

"I've been to Michigan and Ohio State and really liked both schools," he continued. "I like all the Big Ten schools, but I would love to hear from Alabama and Florida State."
