Quick Game Recap
Coppell pulled away in the second half to win 52-30, but this was a back and forth game until the third quarter when the Cowboys outscored the Hawks 2106.
It was a battle of running backs, as Coppell's speedy Charles West averaged over 16 yards per carry and rushed for 135 yards and a score. Angelo Garbutt for Hebron was equally impressive getting rushing 30 times for 220 yards and two touchdowns.
Also junior Josh Fink was a key component for the Cowboys. He took the opening kick off 82 yards and then caught three more touchdowns racking up 111 yards. Quarterback Skyler Bonneau went 8-for-12 and tossed two of those scores to Fink.
Coppell offensive tackle Connor Williams, a 6-foot-5, 285-pounder maintains that he is not ready to name any favorites and he has not yet scheduled any official visits and the same could be said for Charles West, who admitted that Arkansas, Texas Tech, Kansas State and BYU were his top offers.
Williams was not the only top tackle on the team as they also have massive 6-foot-10, 335-pound Jordan Palmer. Palmer is just now getting on the recruiting scene as he played JV ball last year as the Cowboys had a senior laden offensive front. But he has already reeled in an offer from North Texas.
Defensive lineman Chris Biggurs is still looking for his first official offer, but said that Texas Tech was a school that has continued to stay on top of his recruitment.
Back in Blue
It was great to see offensive lineman and Arkansas commit Zach Rogers (PICTURED) back out on the field again.
After Coppell came out and returned the opening kick Rogers came out with a chip on his shoulder and helped set the tone for what would be a very physical game up front.
Rogers is a Scout four-star for a reason. I mentioned to someone that he is like watching a skill player as your eyes are always drawn to what he is doing play-to-play. If you don't watch you might miss him mashing someone.
He did not get the chance to really pass block as the Hawks were only credited with attempting two passes, but his run blocking is superb. He plays with good leverage when he is driving and he moves extremely well in the open field.
He does about everything you want to see a top-rated offensive linemen do.
