Ford Focused On Arkansas State

Webb City (MO) offensive lineman Dalton Ford recently hauled in a new offer from Arkansas State. He visited them for their home opener and is directing a lot of focus towards that program at this time.

Webb City had a monumental win on Friday night as they took down 6A Missouri high school power Rockhurst. One of the keys to the victory was the effectiveness of the offensive line lead by senior Dalton Ford.

He anchored the unit that wore down the defense after the first quarter and lead to a big night on the ground. Ford discussed the significance of the achievement.

"It was big," he said. "Nobody in the state thought we could do it. It was great to come out and prove everyone wrong."

A recent offer rolled in for Ford not too long ago, and it's a school he's directing a lot of focus towards.

"Arkansas State offered," he noted. "Coach Dodd followed me on twitter and we messaged back and forth. We've established a pretty good relationship already. He asked me what offers I had and I told him. He then told me to make that four, because they were going to jump in now. I'm visiting them for their home opener."

It hasn't taken long for Ford to put a lot of thought into his new offer, as Arkansas State will be a major threat for his services.

"I have quite a bit of interest in them," he admitted. "It's a very good program. It's a great school. I want to see how it is there. I haven't done a whole lot of research on them, yet. I'm going to go home and watch film and afterwards I'll look into them a lot more."

"They are the school I'm most focused on," Ford added. "I was focused on Illinois but a wrench got thrown into things when Coach Ricker left for Missouri."

Ford still awaits one offer that would be significant for him but is content with his offer sheet as it stands now.

"I still have hopes of a Missouri offer," the in-state lineman revealed. "I like them a lot. I'm not going to take anything for granted, though. I already have great offers and I'm going to see how it all goes."
