Mark Birmingham on Attention

One of the top-ranked tight end prospects in the class of 2016 checks in from Ashburn (VA) Briar Woods High School. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound four-star prospect is the No 9 ranked tight end prospect in next year's class.

Mark Birmingham has interest from Duke, Florida, Florida State, Penn State, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia to name a few. The standout tight end is comfortable with the attention.

"I think now I have gotten used to the attention," Birmingham said. "I can handle things a little better now and I am more prepared. I have visited Florida, Florida State, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Duke. I like the coaches and type of football they play at all the schools."

Birmingham will take as many trips as he possibly can before making his final decision on where to attend college.

"I am seeing a game at Virginia when they play North Carolina, and I will see Duke play again but right now I have no favorites," Birmingham said. "The most important factors for me are that I am comfortable at the school as a player and student."

Why are so many teams trying to land the four-star tight end prospect?

"Strengths on the field would be stretching the defense when I release from tight end," Birmingham said. "I can clear zones to get receivers open or even break man coverage down the seem. I can always improve my blocking."
