Scouting Julian Santos

Here are some highlights and analysis from Julian Santos in action this past Friday against Palm Harbor University.

Julian Santos is a standout offensive line prospect in the 2016 from Tarpon Springs (Fla.) East Lake high school. Santos, 6-foot-3, 310-pounds, is playing left tackle this season.

Santos is a quick and agile guard prospect playing out of position this season. As East Lake coach Bob Hudson told me last month, “we don’t have Mason Cole”. Hence, the reason why their best offensive linemen (Santos) is playing left tackle.

Santos had an up and down game but he’s only played the tackle position for a short time. I thought he did a nice job in pass pro, particularly sliding his feet and staying in front of the defensive end. This is a young man that gets off the ball well, is powerful and moves well. He certainly has a ‘guard’ frame.

Santos is a wrestler, which typically bodes well for linemen because you learn to play with leverage and how to use your hands. Wrestlers also must be well conditioned athletes.

Take a look at some of his Friday highlights below.
