Scouting Carson Lydon

Here are some highlights and analysis from Carson Lydon in action this past Friday against Palm Harbor University.

Carson Lydon is a very active linebacker prospect from East Lake high school in Tarpon Springs, Fla. that plays both on the outside and inside.

Lydon, 6-foot-2, 230-pounds, also play some offense as a running back. Check out the second highlight from below. Lydon scores an incredible touchdown on an inside run that he takes to the house. He gets cut low, flips over, lands on his feet and scores.

That’s just how this kid rolls. He’s a tough, hard-nosed throwback that plays with a non-stop motor. I mean Lydon plays the game with his hair on fire. He’s physical and always attacking, whether it’s the ball carrier or someone trying to block him. Again, check out some of the highlights below.

There are linebackers bigger and there are linebackers faster. But Lydon has good size and speed and he plays so darn hard. Lydon can play in space, he can make tackles in pursuit and he can sift through traffic to locate and get to the ball.

Lydon got dinged up (ankle) in this game. He started on the outside but moved inside after the ankle injury. You can see he played through it but the injury did slow him down.

Fans at Virginia Tech are going to love this kid, as Lydon has committed to the Hokies.

Take a look at some of his Friday highlights below.
