There was one thing glaring about the game of Coppell (Texas) High running back Charles West in Friday night's win over Lewisville (Texas) Hebron.
The 5-foot-9, 178-pounder is super fast.
"It's God given speed, man," West said with a big smile after the 52-30 win. "My mom ran track and I was just blessed with it."
West was itching to get back out on the field and it showed. He only had eight carries, but rushed for 135 yards (16.88 average) and scored a touchdown.
"I have been waiting for this since the season stopped last year," West explained. "Basically its a new team and a whole new offense. It was good to come out here and play."
On the recruiting front, it seems to be status quo for West who does not yet have any of his official visits yet set and reports his best offers are from Arkansas, Texas Tech, BYU and Kansas State.
"I have not yet set any of my official visits and I do not have any top schools," West informed. "I am taking everything in waiting to take officials and find the right school."
This Friday No. 29 Coppell (1-0) faces off against McKinney (Texas) Boyd.
