Irish in top five for Florida OT

Three-star offensive tackle Mike Arnold of Winter Haven (Fla.) High talks about why Notre Dame made his top five and what his plans are from here.

Winter Haven (Fla.) High offensive tackle Mike Arnold has a top five of Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech.

Arnold has official visits set to Nebraska and Virginia Tech, and it's possible Notre Dame could be next.

"I haven't talked with them in a couple of weeks, but the last time we talked, they seemed very interested in me," Arnold said. "Coach Alford likes my foot work and my speed for a guy my size. I have a good ability to come back to a block on one-on-one's."

"I like Notre Dame right now for the atmosphere and the name," Arnold said. "I like what I've seen from Notre Dame watching a lot of their games on TV. That's why I really want to visit."

Arnold, standing at 6-foot-6, 295-pounds, says he understands the certain rigors of what being a Notre Dame student-athlete entails.

"I know there are rules up there, but that's good with me because education comes first," Arnold said. "I want to be around that type of situation with other players, too."

Arnold is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 104 offensive tackle in the class of 2015.
