Gators Target Standout 2016 CB

At 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, Saivion Smith checks in as the No 6 ranked Cornerback prospect in the class of 2016. He is also the No 54 ranked player overall regardless of position. Smith is from Bradenton (Fla) IMG Academy and has plenty of options moving forward.

Saivion Smith was able to visit the University of Florida for the home opener as the Gators hosted Idaho. Unfortunately, Smith was not able to watch the Gators opener but he still enjoyed his time spent around the team.

"The vibe was very good," Smith said. "I loved being around the players, fans and student body. I went with my dad and Ryan Davis. I talked to T-Rob (Travaris Robinson, and Durkin (D.J. Durkin) while I was there. There was a buzz in the air especially during the weather delay from everybody."

"My strengths are being physical at the line and the point of attack," Smith said. "I also have speed and great ball skills. I would like to work on my footwork just a little because we haven't worked on that during the season."

Smith is one of the most heavily recruited players in the Sunshine state at his position with offers from some of the biggest programs in America.

"Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, UCF, UCLA and Virginia Tech."

Who will be next to offer the defensive standout?

"I think Rutgers is going to pull the trigger, and I am not sure about any trips right now."
