Peoria (Ariz.) Liberty at Glendale (Ariz.) Mountain Ridge at 7 p.m.
These two schools are just miles apart and a rivalry is brewing. Liberty is lead by jack-of-all-trades Tyler Wyatt. Wyatt is an excellent high school quarterback and doubles as a kicker that has the range to connect from 50 plus yards. On defense, two players are off to a good start. Corner back Kory Wilson, who has an offer from Navy, is one of the state's best and defensive tackle Aaron Blackwell has been nearly unblockable. Mountain Ridge has a pair of players that have already given verbal commitments to division-one programs. Linebacker Billy McEowen is going into his third year as a starter and a program that has a rich history of producing quality linebackers. McEowen has elected to stay home and play at Northern Arizona. Offensive guard Ryan DeLung, also a three year starter, was getting quite a bit of early recruiting attention but decided to commit to Air Force this summer. (Follow @jason247scout on Twitter)
Layton (Utah) Northridge at Salt Lake City (Utah) High at 7 p.m.
This game is all about four-star cornerback, Dayan Lake. Lake is the crown jewel of BYU’s 2015 class, and he is an impressive athlete. He is a bit raw, but has the ability to turn into a lockdown cornerback for the Cougars. Lake is also a special teams standout, he blocked four kicks in one game early this season. Northridge also features Noah Kramer who is an impressive defensive tackle prospect with offers from BYU and Weber State, as well as Jaylen Dyson, a 6-3 195 pound cornerback with a lot of potential. Highland’s top prospect is corner/receiver Alassane Niang, who holds offers from Hawaii and Weber State, with a lot of Ivy League interest. (Follow @DougKimmelScout on Twitter)
Saratoga Springs (Utah) Westlake at Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon at 7 p.m.
Both teams head into this game 2-0 with impressive victories early in the season. Westlake has been a bit of a surprise, being led by 2017 four-star sensation, Chaz Ah You. Ah You is being recruited as a safety, but has been asked to play quarterback this fall. So far, the switch has paid off, tallying nine touchdowns through two games. Ah You holds early offered from BYU, Oklahoma State, Utah, and Utah State. Oklahoma is showing heavy interest in the young safety as well. Corner Canyon features two of the top offensive tackles in the region. Branden Bowen and Keaton Bills lead the way up front for the Chargers. Bowen is a 6-7 315 pound senior, who currently holds offers from 11 schools. Bowen is primarily looking at Utah, Washington State, and Ohio State (who hasn’t offered). Bills is a 2016 standout, who plays left tackle as well as defensive end. He has early offers from BYU, Utah, and Utah State. 2015 outside linebacker Gaige Kartchner is another prospect on Corner Canyon worth keeping an eye on. Kartchner has a Nevada offer, is a guy being monitored by a lot of schools, including Utah, Michigan State, and BYU. (Follow @DougKimmelScout on Twitter)
Avondale (Ariz.) Westview at Anthem (Ariz.) Boulder Creek at 7 p.m.
Westview has been known for running the football and that hasn't changed under new head coach Joe Parker. The Knights run their Wing-T offense to perfection and running back Jalen Johnson returns after rushing for over 1,600 yards as a junior. He scored three touchdown in their week one win. Boulder Creek features a pair of division-one athletes in Nathan Eldridge and Ryan Parenteau. Eldridge starts at both offensive guard and defensive tackle and is a force at 6-foot-4, 275 pounds. He has committed to Arizona as a guard. Parenteau is one of the hardest hitting safeties in the state and holds several FCS offers. (Follow @jason247scout on Twitter)
Mission Hills (Calif.) Alemany at. Sammamish (Wash.) Eastside Catholic at 7 p.m.
There are a ton of Pac-12 commits in the game and some of the best players in the Northwest playing as well as a pair of four-stars from Southern California. In fact, there are four Scout 300 members playing, two in the 2015 class and two more in the 2016 class. Alemany will make the trek up to the Northwest and will bring a pair of four-star receivers in Desean Holmes (USC commit) and Dominic Davis (Washington State commit). Sylvester Robinson and Tyree Thompson lead the Alemany defense. Eastside Catholic has Scout 100 for 2016 four-star Brandon Wellington, a commit to Washington, on both sides of the ball, at running back and outside linebacker/safety. 2016 Scout 300 quarterback Harley Kirsch leads the Crusaders offense and Montana commits Cody Baker and Alex Neale anchor the offensive line. Defensively, Anthony Masaniai, Deion Fetui and Terin Adams also bolster the defense.(Follow @BrandonHuffman on Twitter)
Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral at Pasadena (Calif.) Muir at 7 p.m.
Muir is led by USC commitment Taeon Mason, who is a four-star all-purpose player for the Mustangs as a wide receiver, cornerback and kick returner. While committed to USC, Mason says he will still take official visits to UCLA, Arizona State and Fresno State. The Mustangs also feature 2016 tight end Troy Hill. A Muir basketball play with little experience on the gridiron, Hill showed off his 6-foot-5, 225-pound frame in passing league last May. Cathedral features their own all purpose athlete in Cameron Haney. With scholarship offers from ASU, Boise State, Washington, Washington State and others, Haney will undoubtedly match up against Mason one-on-one. But Cathedral will attempt to win this battle in the tranches with players like 6-foot-7, 240-pound defensive end Semi Moala, who carries offers from Miami and Washington State. Arizona Western College (Ariz.) at Snow College (Utah) at 11 a.m.
Arizona Western heads into Saturday 2-0 and ranked 10th nationally, Snow isn’t far behind at 1-0 and #12 in the early polls. Both teams are loaded with D1 talent. Dami Ayoola is one of Western’s top weapons, the sophomore running back is committed to Arizona and has looked impressive early on. Darrell Monroe is potentially the top running back for AWC, rushing for 130 yards per game (11.4 ypc), with six total touchdowns. Monroe is only a freshman. Glen Bethel is a 6-6 300 mammoth tackle, paving the way for Ayoola and Monroe. Bethel holds offers from seven schools, including Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, South Florida, and Wake Forest. On defense, Arizona Western features Arizona safety commit, Paul Magloire. Magloire has been solid early on, and is one of the hardest hitters in the WSFL conference. Antonio Kinard has two offers from Cal and Louisville, but should haul in more offers this fall, Kinard is one of the top JC linebackers. For Snow, it starts up front with Zach Lindsay. The 6-7 315 pound offensive tackle is committed to Utah, but is drawing attention from a handful of Pac-12 schools, including Arizona State, who nearly flipped him earlier this summer.
