Brown shuts it down

Leeward Brown committed to Miami several months ago, but said he would take visits and check out some options. Now, the 2015 offensive lineman has decided the only place he’ll visit is The U.

Leeward Brown is no longer considering other schools or planning on taking any visits, except to Miami. For the 2015 three-star lineman, there’s just no place like home..

“I’m solid, I’m one-hundred percent, everything is shut down, I’m not looking at anymore schools,” he said.

“Having my family here (is huge). They push me to do everything. I know if I’m struggling, I know I can always come home. I can always come home to momma. (I want to) have my family at the games.”

While Brown didn’t love the ‘Canes most recent game, a loss to Louisville, he has no intention of changing his mind.

“Regardless of the W or the L, I’m still going to be with Miami, but I felt like they could have called the plays a bit better,” he said.

The Miramar (Fla.) standout plans to catch several Miami games this fall.

“I’m definitely going to be there when they play Florida State. If I’m not at all of the home games, I’ll be at most of the home games,” he said.

Brown has now fully put his recruitment to rest and is fully focused on having a great senior season. Miramar has a chance to make a strong run at a state title this fall.

“I’m mostly focused on my high school season. (Miami coaches) already know I’m going there, so I just put that to the side,” he said.

“The season has been fine individually for me. This is supposed to be my explosive year. I know what I’m capable of doing at the high school level – just dominating, trying to take my team to states.”
