Taylor sets first official

Darrell Taylor is getting closer to making his college decision. Hopewell (Va.) head coach Richard Irby gave Scout.com the latest on the four-star defensive end.

Last month, Darrell Taylor narrowed his list of schools to Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Now, Taylor could be just weeks away from making his college decision.

The Hopewell standout has set his first official visit and will likely schedule another in the near future.

”Darrell will take his first official visit to Florida on Sept. 13,” said Hopewell head coach Richard Irby. “I think he’ll probably take one to South Carolina, too, before he commits.

”Those will probably be the only two he takes before he makes his decision. He wants to commit on homecoming, which is Sept. 26.”

While he will likely only take two officials before he commits, Taylor has taken unofficial trips to Ohio State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech in the past few months, and they are also still serious contenders for the Hopewell star.
