Glackin Receiving New Interest

After a great summer that saw him earn nine scholarship offers, Jango Glackin received his share of interest on the first day of contact by college coaches. Scout.com spoke with Glackin about some of those programs and where he might visits.

While Jango Glackin enjoyed a surprising summer earning multiple scholarship offers, the early attention he received during the first week of contact surprised him even more as a program he’s got high interest in reached out.

“I talked with Coach (Randy) Bates of Northwestern,” said Glackin. “We talked about what I like and what I wanted from college and talked about Northwestern and how it’s right by Chicago and how they are about to do something special.”

From the sound of things the Wildcats will be looking to establish a relationship early in the process.

“Coach Bates said he was going to try and visit me at practice on Monday,” he said. “I told him Monday’s are a film and running back and he said he might just come by the school to start building a relationship. He also invited me to their game against Nebraska later this season.”

What does Glackin know about the Wildcats program?

“From what I know about them, they are a great academic school and couldn’t be in a better location for someone looking to study business,” he continued. “I also know that Coach (Pat) Fitzgerald is a former linebacker and I’m sure he looks after his linebackers.”

The Wildcats were not alone in reaching out to the 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker.

West Virginia offered and I received a ton of mail from Florida State, Ohio State and Nebraska sent me something,” he said. “Louisville, Purdue and Michigan State have all reached out to me on Twitter.”

Are there any plans to visit any schools this fall?

“Right now it will depend on my schedule with my team,” he said. “My father and I haven’t decided yet, but we’re looking to visit West Virginia, Northwestern, Michigan State and a few others.”
