Big Addition for Jayhawks

The Kansas Jayhawks struck gold this past week in adding two verbal commitments and a tranfer. Perhaps the biggest news for Jayhawk fans was the commitment of Olathe East offensive lineman Todd Haselhorst.

The Kansas Jayhawks embark on 2003 as a season of change as they continue to build their program into the upper echelon of the Big 12. Before the season has even begun, though, the Jayhawks may have received their best news of the year so far in the commitment of Olathe East offensive lineman Todd Haselhorst.

"I had kind of wanted to get my decision made before my season in the first place," Todd said. "I planned to go on some visits to check out schools, and did so last week in visiting Nebraska and Kansas State. After the visits I realized Kansas was my best opporunity."

Haselhorst was the second verbal commitment at the time for the Jayhawks as they also added Plano, Texas (West) tight end Jim Reuber this past weekend.

How solid is Haselhorst's commitment?

"I'm set on being a Jayhawk, and will not be changing my mind. I saw them in practice yesterday, and they have put on a lot of muscle. Their players looked two times bigger, and the linebackers have really been standing out."

The Jayhawks also added an offensive line transfer from Air Force this past weekend in Matt Anderson.
