Martell, the No. 1 quarterback in the 2017 class, became the eighth member of the Scout 100 to commit to the Buckeyes.
"I love the offense and it's a great fit for me," Martell told Scout's Greg Biggins. "Coach Meyer has proven he's an offensive genius and has had great success with quarterbacks of my size and style."
Martell had previously been committed to Texas A&M before opening things up earlier this spring. He had also visited Ohio State this spring.
"I loved Ohio State, it's a phenomenal school and you know they will be competing for a national championship every year you're there," said Martell. "I'm excited about the opportunity to play for a program with so much tradition."
Martell is the second quarterback commit for Ohio State in the 2017 class but is open to competing for the job when it's his time.
"I understand there will be other quarterbacks there and if I have to redshirt thats fine," said Martell. "But I'm competitive and will do the best I can."
Martell will graduate early and be in Columbus in January. He joins his Bishop Gorman teammate, Haskell Garrett, in pledging to the Buckeyes.
"I'm excited to play with Haskell and excited to recruit other players," said Martell.
Martell is the No. 14 overall ranked player by Scout in the 2017 class and a five-star.
