Hail State Defensive End Commit, Deandre Johnson, Secures Visit Dates With Two SEC Schools

Deandre Johnson, a Mississippi State commit hailing out of talent-loaded Miami, has scheduled official visits with a pair of SEC programs.

Deandre Johnson, who's been verbally attached to Dan Mullen's Mississippi State Bulldogs since late July, says he's penciled in a pair of official visit dates with National Signing Day starting to creep up on prospects all across the map.

A product of talent-rich Miami (Fla.) Southridge, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Johnson checks in as the South's 27th-ranked defensive end and 13th-ranked defensive end out of the Sunshine State.

"I set up an official with Tennessee last night for Nov. 12," Johnson said. "I'll also be up at Mississippi State for the Texas A&M game (on Nov. 5).

Johnson has journeyed up to Rocky Top once before, but is itching to refresh his mind with multiple days to work with.

"They have been in recent contact and want me to come up," Johnson said when asked about the Vols. "I want to check out the place again and learn more about them."

Mississippi State has hit their fair share of speed bumps throughout the 2016 season, but Johnson remains confident in Mullen's vision and is not looking for a way out.

"I'm in a good place with them in my recruitment," Johnson said. "We communicate daily and they're still on me."
