Position: Safety

High School: Pittsburgh Imani Christian

Height: 6-3

Weight: 204

Recruiting: Robinson committed to West Virginia. He also had Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Toledo, Temple and Iowa State as finalists.

The Scouting Report: Robinson, who plays at Pittsburgh Imani Christian, offers versatility and great athleticism, which makes for a nice mix and lots of potential.

He is 6-foot-3, 204 pounds and plays safety and receiver, and he good grow into a linebacker if he adds size. Either that, or he could be a 220 pound safety with the ability to cover to the numbers or fill a run gap.

Robinson recognizes plays quickly and he fills run gaps well. He changes direction and he has good closing speed. He is physical and a good tackler. His straight-line speed is an asset.

In pass coverage, Imani Christian plays a lot with one safety and Robinson is that guy. He has the speed to help over the top to the numbers, and he tracks the ball well. He needs to work on his angles a little in the passing game, but it is a small tweak.

He will have to get stronger before he can play at an optimal level in college, and that includes in the lower body, but he has a high upside.

Overall Analysis: A lot of schools missed a big opportunity to recruit Robinson, one of the top athletes in western Pennsylvania in the 2017 class. He runs well and plays physical, and his versatility is a plus. He will be able to play early in his career, and by the time he is done in Morgantown, there will be a lot of chatter in the region asking why their school did not get involved with him.
