Brock Sturges is a 2018 Running Back to Watch in TXHSFB

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Scout features game footage of Brock Sturges, an emerging 2018 running back from Texas powerhouse Allen High School.

The above video features game clips of 2018 running back Brock Sturges in this past weekend's 42-23 Allen victory against Duncanville in a Texas Class 6A Division I state quarterfinal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Sturges ran 13 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns as Allen improved to 14-0 entering this weekend's Texas 6A D-I state semifinal against The Woodlands. Sturges teamed with fellow 2018 running back Kirby Bennett to lead Allen to a 344-yard rushing performance in the win against Duncanville.

Through 14 games, the 5-foot-9 1/2, 193-pound Sturges leads Allen with 1,106 yards and 16 touchdowns on more than seven yards per carry. He also has 11 receptions for 145 yards.

Sturges is a stout running back with a good frame for the position. He has a lower center of gravity and does a good job "getting small" in tight quarters to shrink himself as a tackling target. He also has the strength to run through arm tackles and gain yards after contact, as well as quick feet that give him good lateral mobility in close quarters.
