South Jordan (Utah) Bingham defensive tackle Jay Tufele was one of the stars on day one at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Tufele, the West's No. 1 defensive tackle, was one of the Top Five Performers on Day One and he's also the top uncommitted defensive lineman in the West.
He talked about each of his top five.
BYU: "I have a great relationship with Coach (Kalani) Sitake and BYU is on the rise and there are a lot of aspects over there I like. Me being of the LDS faith, I think it could be really good for me to be there. I know they're a young team but they have a lot of great players and they'll be really good for a long time.
Michigan: "Michigan is really awesome. When I took my trip, it's a real college town and I loved everything about it and it was awesome. Coach (Jim) Harbaugh is a really good coach. I'm good friends with Bryan Mone. He's told me everything about Michigan. Even with Coach (Tony) Tuoti gone, I know Michigan needs defensive tackles so they've been going hard on me."
Ohio State: "Ohio State is a really great program. Coach Larry Johnson is a really good coach. Urban Meyer is an awesome coach too. He's one of the best coaches in college football and I would want to see how it goes there.
USC: "I really love USC. Me and Coach KU (Kenechi Udeze) have a great bond. I took two unofficials there and I loved them so I'm going to take an official there so I can learn more and see everything."
Utah: "I have a real great relationship with the coaches at Utah and they've been recruiting me for a long time. All my coaches are Utah fans, so it would be awesome over there. I always talk with Lowell (Lotulelei) and he tells me he wants to come up there and he'd love for me to come up there and play with him."
Tufele plans to visit BYU on January 13, USC on January 20 and Utah on 27th with a decision coming after the visits.
"I will decide on Signing Day," said Tufele. "I'm still loving the process. You only get to go through it once in a lifetime so it's been a blessing."
