Every year there are always those players that slip through the crack and under the radar screen. This year, that player was Emmanuel Flowers.
Flowers is one of the top defensive backs in the state and shows a lot of promise. He's a long, rangy athlete and could flip between corner or safety depending on both need and where his body goes.
If he bulks up and outgrows corner, he'll make a fine safety. If he can stay lean and quick and continue to improve his speed and quickness, he'll be that big corner a lot of colleges really like.
Flowers had early offers from Hawaii and Idaho and then UCLA got the ball rolling in early December as his first BCS offer. Since then, offers have come in from Michigan State, San Jose State, San Diego State and Wyoming.
"I'm taking my first official visit this weekend to San Jose State," Flowers said. "Then I have Michigan State next weekend and UCLA the last weekend of the month.
"Wyoming came in for a home visit last night and offered and they want me to try and schedule a mid-week visit. I'm going to try and do that for sure but haven't locked in the exact date yet. After my last visit to UCLA, I'll have a few days to evaluate everyone and then can make my decision on Signing Day."null
