Top Commitments of the Weekend:

ATH Connor Wedington — Stanford Cardinal

The No. 1 athlete in the West, Wedington became the second Washington native to commit to the Cardinal in this class, joining offensive tackle Foster Sarell.  Wedington can play on either side of the ball but the Cardinal envision using him like they did with the recently departed Christian McCaffrey.

Isaiah Pola-Mao — USC Trojans

The top safety in Arizona and one of the best in the West, Pola-Mao committed to the Trojans on Friday morning, getting what should be a big week for the Trojans started nicely. Pola-Mao will join with Bubba Bolden to give USC two of the top three safeties in the West.

CB Javelin Guidry — Utah Utes

Guidry chose the Utes over Texas and it was a huge coup for Utah.  Guidry had committed to new Horns' coach Tom Herman when he was at Houston but when Herman left for Austin, he opened things up.  Arizona State also made a push for Guidry but Utah and Sharieff Shah made a bigger one and Guidry chose to stay in the Pac-12 instead of returning to the Lone Star State.

Top Prospects Left on the Board:

No. 24 WR Joseph Lewis - Los Angeles (Calif) Augustus Hawkins

Prediction: USC Trojans

USC continues to make a move for Lewis and had him on campus this weekend for a visit. Oregon is trying to get back in this and new coach Willie Taggart did a home visit with Lewis earlier this month. Nebraska had been our choice for the last few months and we still feel the Huskers are on the short list, but we’ve changed it of late to USC and the Trojans have a lot of momentum and the local flavor. He visited with teammate Greg Johnson, who’s also leaning towards USC, and Johnson’s younger brother, Marcus, has already committed to the Trojans.  We’ll still lean this one towards the Trojans.

No. 30 OT Austin Jackson - Phoenix (Ariz.) North Canyon

Prediction: USC Trojans

The five-star offensive tackle was going to announce not long after returning from the U.S. Army All-American Bowl because he didn’t want to wait until national signing day. But he ended up pushing that decision to signing day and he’ll announce on Wednesday.  It has been a three-horse race for Jackson, with Arizona State, USC and Washington but we think its between the Sun Devils, the local school, and the Trojans, the prohibitive favorite and we’ll still trend this one towards USC.
