Following his East Carolina official visit this past weekend, Davondre Robinson committed to the Pirates on Sunday evening.

The 6-foot, 194-pound Robinson became ECU's 22nd commitment in the 2017 class.

"It feels good to be committed and I'm glad to be done with the recruiting process," Robinson said. "I picked ECU because I feel like I can come in and contribute right away.

"Coach (Scottie) Montgomery is also a great guy and I like where he is trying to take the program."

The official visit helped seal the deal.

"The trip was very nice," Robinson said. "I enjoyed myself and had a great time meeting all the coaches and some of the players."

Inside linebackers coach Ryan Anderson was the lead recruiter for Robinson and the two have developed a strong relationship.

"Coach Anderson is a great guy and he's really cool," Robinson said. "He told me that they need some ball players and that I could come in and be one of those guys."

Robinson is looking forward to playing for Montgomery.

"I'm very excited about having an opportunity to play for him," Robinson said. "He's full of energy and I think he's going to do a great job."
