Leonard Warner eliminated Georgia and Georgia Tech from his list over a week ago. The 6-foot-3.5, 224 pound senior out of Snellville (Ga.) Brookwood had his final in-home visit with Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher eight days ago and he made his decision that night.
"My mom, dad and sister were right there when I told coach Fisher and the coaches that I wanted to commit," said Warner. "I felt relieved right away and it was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders right then.
"The coaches were talking to me about their need for me, how they have a spot for me and there came a point in our conversation that I just told them that I was ready to commit."
When Warner gave the Seminole coaches the news, they stood up, they lit up with excitement and they were all smiles just like the Warner family.
It came down to what there is for this four star in Tallahassee (Fla.).
"I chose Florida State because of the coaches, how they want to use me and how the academics fit me there. I had a good official visit there, they have been recruiting me for a long time and it is a school for me."
Warner says they plan to use him primarily at inside linebacker, then use him outside some as a pass rusher in passing situations.
