Jordyn Slaughter has gone from relatively unknown to having several offers just in the last two weeks. Southern Illinois became the first school to offer the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Althoff Catholic offensive lineman on January 23rd and since then, Bowling Green, Toledo, Southeast Missouri and Eastern Illinois have also extended offers.
"It felt great to receive my first few offers because it showed that all my hard work was finally paying off," Slaughter said. "I haven't visited any of the schools yet but I'll be planning unofficial visits shortly."
This all came on the heels of a good performance at the BOOM Showcase, which he believes served as a catalyst.
"I think the BOOM showcase helped me really get my name out in Illinois more especially up North."
Slaughter reports a 5.31 in the forty yard dash, 305 bench and 415 squat.
