Osborne is currently on an unofficial visit to the Husky campus that started on Thursday. The receiver just came out of a meeting with UW head coach Chris Petersen where he was able to commit
"I think Coach Petersen is the best coach in the country," Osborne said. "The thing I love about him is he's not just about football, he wants to make every player a better person and set them up for life after football. My goal is to become a better man and a better athlete and I know I can do that at Washington.
"Washington has a top 10 Business program, which is what I want to major in and I have an aunt and uncle who live 20 minutes away from campus so it's just a great all around fit for me."
Osborne took an unofficial visit to UW during the season when the Huskies hosted Portland State.
"I knew right then I would be a Husky," Osborne said. "My mom told me early in the process that when you step foot on a campus, you'll know it's the right place for you. I took a lot of visits but when I was at Washington, I knew while I was watching the game, that was the place for me. It just felt right, I loved it there.
Husky WR Coach Bush Hamdan has quickly established himself as one of the top recruiters out West and he was a big factor in Osborne's decision as well.
"That's my man right there, I love Coach Hamdan," Osborne said. "He offered me last February and then I camped with them in the summer. He told me at the time, 'no one will recruit you harder than me,' and he was right.
"We face time or text almost every day and he treats me like family. He's a real person, honest and upfront and I'm excited to have the opportunity to play for him. He's a great coach as well and will be a great mentor for me."
As for why he chose to commit so early in the process, Osborne said there were a number of reasons why he wanted to get his decision out of the way.
"In my mind, there's not a better college out there for me," Osborne said. "There's no other offer out there that would top Washington for me, so when you find the perfect fit, why put it off. I know players commit and then look around but that's not me, I'm 100% all in with Washington and won't be taking any other visits or even talking to other schools.
"I really want to enjoy my senior season as well and having this decision out of the way will help that. Our team is going to Hawaii in the pre-season and I just want to enjoy my year and focus on my team and school. Plus I'm going to be graduating early and enrolling in March. My goal is to play right away so I'm excited to get up to school for spring practice and hopefully I can make an early impact."
Osborne is a big time talent who does everything well. He has very good size at 6-3, 180 pounds, has strong hands, is a pure route runner and has the speed to get behind a defense. He's a tireless worker off the field as well and has a very nice upside to him.
