North Carolina, Virginia Tech showing early interest in 2020 Ath. Cameron Hunter

Cameron Hunter will be one of the top 2020 prospects in Virginia and he spoke with Scout about his recruitment.

Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River athlete Cameron Hunter is already turning heads on the recruiting trail.

North Carolina recently became the first to offer Hunter, who is the younger brother of five-star 2017 safety Devon Hunter.

"It definitely felt good to get my first offer," said the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Hunter. "It means a lot, but I have to continue to work hard and stay humble.

"I visited with my brother and was impressed with the academics and they offer a lot of majors. It's a good football program and the facilities are nice. They have a great coaching staff, too, and they really care about their players. I'm going to go back to visit again soon."

Virginia Tech is also showing interest.

"Obviously, my brother is going there," Hunter said. "But when the time comes, I have to make the best decision for me. It's an in-state school and kind of close to home.

"Coach (Justin) Fuente is also doing a great job. The coaching staff -- they're all good people -- and they work to build a bond with you. (Running backs) coach (Zohn) Burden is recruiting me and he's a great person. He's shown a lot of interest."

Hunter said he would like to hear from Ohio State soon.

"I've always liked the way they play," Hunter said. "They play together as a unit and they've also had a lot of success. It's a great overall program."

Hunter hopes to schedule some visits in the near future.
