Scout 100 wide receiver Xavier Williams remains on board with Alabama despite transition, though in-state programs push

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- Scout 100 wide receiver Xavier Williams committed to Alabama just last month but the program has suffered considerable coaching transition since. Many other programs continue to court him in the meantime.

Scout100 wide receiver and Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna wide receiver prospect Xavier Williams surprised some with an early verbal commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide just under one month ago, citing family reasons and a strong bond with multiple coaches on the staff.

Two of those noted names, UA assistants Mario Cristobal and Billy Napier, have since left for offensive coordinator positions within the Pac-12.

Williams admitted he was "shocked" by the news as many other programs, including in-state schools Miami (Fl) and Florida, have continued to push for for a potential flip. MississippiTennessee and Clemson have also been in somewhat consistent contact.

How solid is the four-star to 'Bama and what chances do the others have? He discusses in the above video.
