ACC programs first to jump on OT Jesus Gibbs

Dumfries (Va.) Potomac offensive tackle Jesus Gibbs is one of the hottest prospects in the state and spoke with Scout about the latest developments in his recruitment.

Jesus Gibbs is starting to generate a significant amount of interest on the recruiting trail.

NC State became the latest to offer last week.

"That's a school I really like and they've been recruiting me for quite a while," Gibbs said. "They're recruiting me hardest and it means a lot that they're showing so much interest. I'm visiting for the first time this Saturday. I'm looking forward to meeting the coaching staff, seeing the campus and just talking about football.

"(Cornerbacks) coach (George) Barlow is recruiting me and he's always honest. We have a good relationship. He's very consistent and stays in contact with me more than any other coach."

Besides NC State, Gibbs holds offers from SyracuseVirginiaWake ForestOld Dominion and Charlotte.

Which school could be next to offer?

"I think it could be Penn State because I've been in contact with them a lot lately," Gibbs said. "It's a great school academically and it's a top five football program in my opinion. It's also close to home. Hopefully, I'll be able to visit soon.

"(Assistant) coach (Andrew) Goodman is the coach I've talked to recently. He's the funniest coach I've spoken to during the recruiting process. The conversation with him flows smoothly."

Besides NC State and Penn State, Gibbs will head to Old Dominion on Feb. 25 and Virginia on March 4.
