Strong-armed QB El-Julian Jordan talks first two offers

Detroit Central junior quarterback El-Julian Jordan talks about his first two offers and the other schools he is hearing from.

Detroit Central had a new coaching staff in 2016, a new quarterback in El-Julian Jordan, and a new outlook. Together, Jordan and that staff led by head coach Lynn Sanders, took Central to the playoffs and while they suffered a tough loss to end the season, the prevailing sentiment was that this was only the tip of the iceberg.

Jordan, a junior currently, returns next season and has turned heads this offseason with his rocket arm as well as accuracy and touch. This has led to him earning two offers, Illinois State most recently and Eastern Michigan before that.

"I got the EMU offer when Coach Creighton talked to me on the phone and offered me. It was me, [Central assistant Tim Hopkins] and Coach Creighton on the phone and when I got that call, it was a feeling in my stomach like, I just got my first D1 offer and what I'm doing is paying off. It was a good experience."

The in-state prospect has built a familiarity with the Eagles.

"I visited EMU a lot of times. Coach Creighton and all the other staff is very cool. They stick to their word. That's the kind of school I would like to pay for because they won't switch on me. When I get up there, they'll be the same guys they were when they recruited you. That means a lot how the coaches come off."

This weekend, Jordan will visit Bowling Green on Saturday and the Falcons are reportedly close to offering, then he visits Illinois State on Sunday.

He is also hearing from Ball StateWestern Michigan and Miami (OH).
