The state of Ohio is particularly strong in the defensive backfield class for 2018, and Solon's Taj Ward is one of the best because of his ability to play both safety and cornerback.
"I was offered by Kentucky, and it came from Coach Marrow," Ward said. "We talked on the phone and he said he was very interested in me after watching my film."
"After we talked a while, he told me he was offering me the opportunity to play football on scholarship for Kentucky," he added. "It was a really great feeling to get that first SEC offer, and to have it come from a school that's on the rise."
"I know they just signed Lynn Bowden, and their talent is coming up," he continued. "They want me to get down there for a visit, and I plan on doing that this spring for sure. I'm also hearing from Pittsburgh and Purdue."
