Dyami Brown will make his college commitment this spring.
The Tar Heels have been the favorite for a while.
"They were my first offer," said the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Brown. "I have a really good relationships with the coaches, support staff and players. I also really like the academics.
"(Wide receivers) coach (Gunter) Brewer is recruiting me. He's a good guy and a great coach. He's coached some of the great receivers in the NFL like Dez Bryant. He also has more receivers going to the league this year. He stresses academics and what it can do for me after football because football won't last forever. We talk about football, too, but we also talk about life."
He gave a quick thought on the other schools in his top three.
Virginia Tech: "Virginia Tech was my dream school growing up," Brown said. "When I'm around the program, it's a good feeling because it's a good place to be and they're growing as a program."
Ohio State: "Ohio State has a lot of tradition and they have a great coach in Urban Meyer. He knows how to win and get things done."
Before making his commitment, Brown, who does not have a date for his decision, plans to take several trips.
Brown finished his junior season with 43 carries for 314 yards and two touchdowns and 54 catches for 1,012 yards and 12 more scores.
