It was only a matter of time before Walled Lake Western's Spencer Brown picked up an offer. At 6-foot-6, 265 pounds with the frame to get bigger and the athleticism to play defensive or offensive line, he will likely be a heavily recruited prospect.
Toledo became the first school to offer Brown on Thursday, and while no one thinks that will be his last offer, he is extremely grateful the Rockets gave him the opportunity.
"The feeling I got when I received my first offer was a relief and wake up call. It was a relief because all of the work that I put in has paid off and it was no better feeling in the world to know that I have an opportunity to play college football and go to college for free.
"Also it was a wake-up call because since I got an offer, I'm hungry for more. I truly see my potential so I'm going to work hard so I can have options to go to any school I would like to go too."
"I love Toledo. I think it's a great school also football team. I took a visit earlier in the year and I enjoyed the coaching staff, the tour around the school and also their facilities. The atmosphere at the game was amazing. I'm working on visiting again for spring ball."
Brown's next visit is to Central Michigan on March 21st.
