DE Dante Burke adds offers from Rutgers and Temple

Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan defensive end Dante Burke's stock is rising and he spoke with Scout about the latest developments in his recruitment.

Dante Burke's recruitment is picking up steam.

Rutgers recently offered him.

"I wasn't expecting the offer, but I'm obviously very excited,"  said the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Burke. "I've heard they have a huge fan base and that they're very passionate. They've also had some good players through the years.

"I've been talking to (assistant) coach (Collin) Bauer the most. He always stays in touch and wants to know how I'm doing. He's a younger coach and has a lot of energy. He's been telling me he wants me to come visit and I'll probably go up there sometime in June. I'm looking forward to seeing the facilities and campus. I also want to interact with the coaches and players."

A few weeks later, Temple offered.

"It was also unexpected, but it felt great," Burke said. "I called (defensive line) coach (Jim) Panagos and spoke to him and coach (Geoff) Collins. That's when they offered. They've had a lot of success recently.

"Coach Panagos is recruiting me and he communicates well. He's also straightforward and honest. I haven't scheduled a visit there yet, but I'll probably visit around the same time as Rutgers."

Along with the two aforementioned schools, Charlotte and Old Dominion have offered Burke. MarylandVirginia Tech and Buffalo are also recruiting him.

Besides the upcoming trips to Rutgers and Temple, Burke hopes to visit Charlotte in the near future.
