Badgers take the lead for home state LB

Wisconsin extended an offer to Waukesha Catholic Memorial Junior linebacker CJ Goetz and have a great chance to keep him at home.

A Wisconsin offer to a Wisconsin kid is always received positively and that is certainly the case with Waukesha Catholic Memorial linebacker C.J. Goetz was offered by the Badgers on Sunday.

"The feeling is amazing," he said. "It almost feels like an unreal dream."

Goetz had a huge junior season at inside linebacker (103 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks), but his size (6-4, 225 pounds) and physicality good project him to other spots including other linebacker spots in the Wisconsin 3-4.

"They told me as a hybrid linebacker playing both inside and outside."

He made no secret of his feelings for the Badgers saying "They are my leaders as of right now"

As for a decision date, he currently does not have any firm plans for that.

"I'm just going to talk to my family and coaches and see what is best."
