Showing great size and quickness in and out of his breaks, Scates was a handful for every defensive back that tried to check him.
"It was great being at the Indianapolis combine again, because last year I was kind of nervous, but this year I was a lot better," Scates admitted. "It was a smooth camp with great competition, and I liked it a lot."
"I'm getting better all the time, and my route running is much improved and I'm catching the ball more consistently," he added. "I've done a lot of ball drills with my coach in order to be better."
Scates has been committed to the Spartans since earlier this month, and he is quite happy with his decision.
"I was there twice and I really liked it both times," he explained. "The second trip was really more of a feeling of being at home, to be honest. The coaches are always great to me."
"Other schools are still trying to recruit me, like Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Alabama, but I'm still solid to Michigan State," he continued. "The program at Michigan State is amazing, and that's where home is for me."
