2018 Va. LB Wendell Davis enjoys Duke junior day

Richmond (Va.) Benedictine outside linebacker Wendell Davis was in Durham for Duke's junior day last weekend and spoke with Scout following the visit.

Linebacker Wendell Davis is one of Duke's top defensive targets.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Davis was on the Blue Devils' campus last Saturday for junior day.

"The visit went well," said Davis, who also holds offers from Boston College, Pittsburgh and Old Dominion among others. "I got to see the campus, facilities and spring practice, which was my favorite part."

He spent a lot of time with one coach.

"I was around (assistant) coach (Sam) McGrath the most," Davis said. "We talked about how they practice and how he expects the linebackers to play. I also watched them go through drills."

The Benedictine standout also had a chance to talk to head coach David Cutcliffe one-on-one.

"I enjoyed speaking with him and it meant a lot to talk to a coach of his caliber," Davis said. "He talked about how he liked me as a player and how I would fit in with their program."

Davis will visit Charlotte this week and also plans to head to Pittsburgh and Maryland in the near future.
