Offers come suddenly for DB Elijah Ball

Indianapolis Ben Davis safety Elijah Ball talks about his recent rise from zero to three offers.

Ben Davis safety Elijah Ball was on the radar as a young prospect at Cardinal Ritter, but it was not until this season at Ben Davis, one in which he had 40 tackles, three interceptions, sack and six pass breakups, that the 6-foot-0, 190-pound junior finally became an offer guy.

PurdueCincinnati, Colorado State and Northern Illinois all offered within the last two weeks.

"It's been pretty fun," he said. "It was mind-blowing. I didn't think I'd get them as fast as I did. I'm humbled and thankful to get the opportunity."

"My family is very excited," he added. "We busted out crying. It was a big celebration. It was amazing."

Ball has had a chance to visit some schools, but has more he hopes to get to coming up.

"I visited Toledo last week and March 5th or 6th, I'm going to Iowa. I'm really looking forward to that one. Purdue, I'm going this weekend. Cincinnati, some time later this spring I'll find a way to get there. Northern Illinois, I was in Chicago, but I didn't get a chance to make it, so I was kind of disappointed."

As he takes these trips, Ball has an idea of what he wants to look for in the right school.

"Mainly a home environment. I don't want to be a player that gets to school and everything is good and great, then I get homesick. I want to get there and have it be all brothers. That's mainly what I'm looking for."
