Big week for Smock nets new offers

Louisville (Ky.) St. Xavier 2018 offensive lineman Wyatt Smock had no offers going into Monday. A good performance at Best of the Midwest and three offers made it a big week for him.

On Monday, Wyatt Smock attended the Best of the Midwest Combine and was not one of the offensive linemen with a big name or big offer list going in.

He left as one of the top performers there and soon after, he was offered scholarships by Purdue and Eastern Kentucky and then on Thursday, Louisville offered.

"It has been amazing," he said. "Before this week I was just a lineman and now I'm a prospect. This week has been crazy."

Being a Louisville kid, the Louisville offer is obviously an important one.

"Me and [offensive line coach Mike Summers] have a great relationship. Louisville is my hometown and is the best place in the world. This offer is one that means a lot."

He has similar feelings about the Boilermakers, who were his first offer.

"Purdue is one of the best places on this earth. I love the Brohm brothers and have an amazing relationship with them. They are the best in the business."

Smock says his next planned visit is to Louisville on March 4th, that is the only scheduled visit for the moment.

He is also hearing from Memphis and Iowa State.
