Big Fish Headed to Austin
CB Anthony Cook - Houston (Texas) Lamar
Cook is a corner that you can put on on an island and he walked away from The Opening Houston as one of the top dogs nationally at the position. He headlines a Houston Lamar class that has a bevy of major names.
TE Mustapha Muhammad - Fort Bend (Texas) Ridge Point
Muhammad -- who is the Np. 2 rated TE in the nation -- grew up a Longhorns fan, but has elite offers from the schools that feature the tight end heavily in their offenses. Texas could make a strong play behind a pitch that can feature him in it schemes.
S DeMarvion Overshown - Arp (Texas)
Texas was one of the first major offers for Overshown and the Scout Top 100 member has blown up since. He has some huge hits on tape and his highlights are fun to watch.
S Atanza Vongor - South Grand Prairie (Texas)
Vongor could end up being a Big 12 battle between schools like Texas and TCU, so this visit could go a long way in possibly helping to decide which way this one plays out. There are few elite names on the board at safety, so that could possibly lead to some dominoes falling early.
Other Scout 300 Visitors: TE Malcolm Epps, WR Al'vonte Woodard, WR Erik Ezukanma, WR JaQuayln Crawford, DE Jarell Cherry, WR Jaylen Waddle, S Leon O'Neal, OG Barton Clement, LB Chad Bailey, OL Chasen Hines, CB Gemon Green, ATh Jordan Moore, OL Rafiti Ghirmai
The Commitment Watch
ATH B.J. Foster - Angleton (Texas)
At the very least you should keep a watch on Foster and what his plan is regarding his recruiting timeline coming out of this visit. This is the type of recruitment that has traditionally swayed in UT's favor, so Foster could be the barometer for UT's 2018 recruiting success.
OT Reese Moore - Seminole (Texas)
A big jumbo tight end in high school Moore has the type of frame to bulk up and play offensive tackle in college. He has a nice offer list, but hard to pick against a guy from Seminole, Texas staying in Texas.
RB Keaontay Ingram - Carthage (Texas)
Don't really know that Ingram as a guy who will have a strong chance to pop this weekend, but has the feel of a recruitment that could end early and the 'Horns could speed to the top of the list with a good visit. Could a great visit tip the scales towards an immediate pledge?
C Trey Stratford - Allen (Texas)
Stratford was one of the very first OL that Tom Herman and his staff targeted in the 2018 cycle and he has since racked up about 20 more. He plays right tackle for Allen High, but could also play center or guard in college.
The Offer Watch
CB Starrland Baldwin Jr. - Cypress (Texas) Falls
An offer here could be contingent on the way that UT feels about some of the other top-rated defensive backs in the Houston area, but Baldwin Jr. has great tape and is one of the fastest rising stars in the state.
WR Tommy Bush - Schertz (Texas) Clemens
Bush has been blowing up, but it is a really loaded class at the wide receiver position. It seems like the only offer Bush does not have is one from UT. Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, etc have already offered.
OLB Byron Hobbs - Fort Worth (Texas) Eastern Hills
The Scout 300 linebacker already has Big 12 offers from schools like Oklahoma and TCU and good linebackers are hard to find, so that is why we are keeping a close watch on Hobbs this weekend.
ATH Jordan Whittington - Cuero (Texas)
Whittington is one of the hottest Class of 2019 recruits and a Texas offer here would only seem like a matter of timing and since he is coming in this weekend, the time should be just about right. Schools like Ohio State and Oregon are some of his latest major offers.
