Alex Reigelsperger

Breakdown: Kentucky Commit Alex Reigelsperger

Kentucky landed three-star defensive end Alex Reigelsperger over the weekend, with the Huber Heights (OH) Wayne product pledging to the Cats on an unofficial visit. What is Kentucky getting with Reigelsperger?

WHAT ARE THE STRENGTHS? This kid plays the game the right way, with intensity and high effort. Reigelsperger has good pass rushing skills, and he uses his quickness off the ball and his high motor to his advantage. He has come up big for Huber Heights Wayne in their biggest games, and he is also a leader on his football team. He has gotten better each year, and he should be primed for a huge senior season.

WHAT ARE THE CONCERNS? He is not the biggest defensive end around, so he is going to need to add weight and strength to be able to compete in the SEC. He does have the frame to add muscle while still keeping his quickness off the ball. He needs to play lower, to be able to hold the point of attack against the running game.

WHAT ARE THE INTANGIBLES? Reigelsperger is a player that his coaches rave about his work ethic and his toughness. He is the type of player that will get it done in the weight room, the classroom and in the community. He plays for one of Ohio's top programs, and he is used to winning games. As he is involved with the Kentucky strength and conditioning program, he is going to become bigger and stronger. He is the perfect weak-side, 4-3 defensive end, and should have a heck of a career for the Wildcats.
