Schools, offers coming fast for 2019 DB Sebastian Castro

Oak Lawn (Ill.) Richards safety Sebastian Castro talks about his first two offers, both from power-five schools, and his upcoming visits.

After an All-Area season as a sophomore, recruiting is taking off for Oak Lawn Richards sophomore Sebastian Castro, a 6-foot-1, 202-pound safety.

Minnesota offered last week and before that, Syracuse was the first school to offer.

"I found out when my coach told me the great news and I was very surprised," he said. "I don't really know how to explain it but I was very excited."

He added, "I never really knew that much about Syracuse and their tradition but I'm planning on going on a visit there, hopefully soon."

As for Minnesota, he has some familiarity there too, but is hoping to learn more in the near future.

"I know they have a good program over there in Minnesota as well and I would gladly be apart both programs. I'm planning on going later this month if possible."

Castro has visited Illinois and Notre Dame and is hearing from a number of other programs.

"My coach tells that Penn State, Iowa, Iowa State and Northern Illinois are the most interested right now and they all want me to visit them. As of right now I'm going to the University of Iowa next Sunday, but other than that I'm not sure at the moment but I'm planning on visiting as many schools as I can as soon as possible."
